Dehydrated minced garlic from India, tested before it ships
Fine, even pieces of dried garlic for dressings, dips and toppings. We find the plant that mills and sieves it and test every lot at an accredited lab.
Minced garlic is dried garlic flake milled and sieved into fine, even pieces, smaller than chopped and larger than granules. Dressing, dip, topping and garlic bread mix makers buy it for a quick release of flavour with a little texture. The main risk is fines: too much dust below the bottom screen turns a minced lot into a coarse powder that clumps and looks wrong. We work for you, not the factory: we shortlist plants that dry and mill garlic in house, check them in person and test the goods before you pay the balance.

Uses
Where buyers use it
Dressings and dips
Minced garlic rehydrates fast in a wet base and leaves small visible flecks, which many dressing and dip recipes want.
Garlic bread mixes
Butter and spread mixes for garlic bread use minced garlic for flavour with a little texture on the slice.
Toppings and seasonings
Bagel and bread toppings, pizza seasoning and shaker blends use minced garlic where powder would vanish and chopped would be too large.
Sausage and meat mixes
Minced pieces spread evenly through a meat mix and soften during cooking.

Shipping
HS code, packing and loads
HS code
Dried garlic falls under 0712.90. Minced garlic has no Indian 8-digit line of its own, so exporters choose between the garlic lines. Agree the code with the plant and your customs broker before the first shipment.
Packing
Cartons with sealed polyethylene liners, or lined bags. Handle cartons with care, as rough handling breaks pieces and adds fines. Keep garlic sealed and marked when it travels with onion.
Container load
Minced garlic packs denser than flakes, so a container loads more weight than a flake load. Ask for the plant's last actual loading of minced garlic in the same pack.
Shelf life
Suppliers commonly state 12 to 24 months sealed, cool and dry. Minced garlic is more sensitive to humidity than larger cuts, so keep liners sealed and retest pungency on older stock.
Questions
Dehydrated minced garlic: common questions
What size is dehydrated minced garlic?
There is no official standard. Many plants quote a range of about 1 to 3 mm, but one plant's minced can be another's fine chopped. Order by a millimetre range with oversize and fines limits.
Why does minced garlic arrive with so much dust?
Fines come from milling and from breakage in handling, and they collect at the bottom of each bag. Set a fines limit in the spec and sample from several points in the lot, not just the top.
Is minced garlic stronger than garlic powder?
Not by itself. Strength depends mostly on the garlic and on how it was dried. Powder releases flavour faster, while minced releases it more slowly and leaves visible pieces. Test both in your recipe.
What HS code is used for minced garlic?
It falls under 0712.90, other dried vegetables. India has no separate line for minced garlic, so ask your supplier which garlic line they use and have your customs broker confirm it.
Do you sell dehydrated minced garlic?
No. Creston & Co is a sourcing agent. You buy directly from the plant we help you choose, and we work for you: audits, lab tests, inspection and loading supervision, for a fee agreed in writing.
