Terms of use
The rules for using this website, our articles and the free import report. Paid sourcing work is covered by the agreement we sign with you.
Last updated 22 October 2026.
The short version
- This website gives general information. It is not an offer, a contract or professional advice.
- Sourcing work starts only under a written agreement we both sign, and that agreement sets the fee, scope and responsibilities.
- The free import report is free and carries no obligation. It reflects the market when we write it, so check figures before you rely on them.
- Indian law applies to these terms.
1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use crestonandco.com (the "site"), run by Creston & Company, trading as Creston & Co ("we", "us"). By using the site you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data and forms part of these terms.
2. Our services
The site describes the sourcing services we offer: supplier discovery, factory audits, laboratory testing, negotiation, order management, pre-shipment inspection, export documents and claims support.
Nothing on the site is an offer to provide those services or a contract. We start work only after we have both signed a written agreement that sets out the scope, the fee, the timeline and each side's responsibilities. If that agreement and these terms disagree, the agreement wins.
Timelines, lead times, minimum order quantities, duties and similar figures on the site are typical examples. The figures for your order are the ones in your agreement and the supplier's contract.
3. Information, not professional advice
Our articles, guides and reports explain how buying from India usually works. They are general information, not legal, tax, customs, regulatory or financial advice for your situation.
Import rules, duties, testing limits and certification schemes change often and differ by country. Before you act, confirm the current position with your customs broker, the relevant authority or a qualified adviser. We take care to keep the site accurate, but we cannot promise every page is complete or up to date.
4. The free import report
You can ask for a free report on the current market for a product you want to import. There is no charge and no obligation to hire us.
- The report is based on the information you give us and what we know when we write it. Prices, supply, crop conditions and rules can change soon after.
- It is for your own business use. Please do not republish or resell it.
- We may decline a request, for example for products we do not source or that cannot be lawfully traded, and we may not be able to prepare every report at the same speed.
- Asking for a report means we may email you about it and follow up once. You can tell us to stop at any time.
5. What you send us
When you contact us, please give accurate information and only send material you have the right to share. If your specifications, drawings or supplier details are confidential, tell us before you send them; we will sign a non-disclosure agreement on request.
We treat every enquiry as confidential and use it only to reply to you and to do the work you ask for.
6. Using the site properly
You agree not to:
- Use the site for anything unlawful, fraudulent or misleading, or pretend to be someone else.
- Send spam, advertising or automated submissions through our forms.
- Try to break into, overload or interfere with the site, or upload anything harmful.
- Copy the site's content in bulk, by scraping or otherwise, to build a competing product or service.
7. Content and trademarks
The text, articles, illustrations, design and the Creston & Co name and logo belong to Creston & Company. You may read, print and share pages for your own business use, and quote short extracts with a link back to the page. You may not republish whole articles or reports, or use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you, without our written permission.
Names and logos of laboratories, inspection companies, accreditation bodies and government registrations belong to their owners. We show them to identify the bodies whose reports and registrations we work with. It does not mean they endorse us.
8. Other websites and independent parties
The site links to services run by others, such as Calendly for booking calls, WhatsApp for messages and the official sources our articles cite. Their own terms and policies apply, and we are not responsible for their content or availability.
Manufacturers, laboratories, inspection companies, freight forwarders and customs brokers are independent businesses. We are not the seller of the goods you buy. The sale contract is between you and the supplier, and what each party is responsible for is set out in your agreement with us.
9. Our liability
We provide the site and the free import report as they are, without any promise that they will be error-free, uninterrupted or suitable for a particular purpose.
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for any loss of profit, business, contracts, goods or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss, that arises from using the site, relying on its content or using a free report.
Our liability for paid work is set out in the signed agreement for that work. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud, and nothing takes away rights you have as a consumer where you live.
10. Changes to the site and these terms
We may change the site or these terms at any time. The date at the top shows the latest version, and the version on the site when you use it is the one that applies.
11. General
If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later. These terms, with the privacy policy, are the whole agreement between us about the site.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. If a problem comes up, please email us first; most issues can be settled by talking, and we will reply within 30 days. If we cannot settle it, the courts that have jurisdiction over our registered office in India will decide it.
13. Contact
