MOQ for private-label jewellery from Rajkot: what changes when you add your brand

If your brand goes only on the packaging, the MOQ is usually the same as for standard designs. A logo cast or stamped into the metal, or custom packaging, raises it.

The minimum order for private-label jewellery from Rajkot depends on where your brand appears. If your brand is only on cards, tags and boxes, most makers apply their normal per-design minimum. If your logo is cast, stamped or engraved into the piece, or if you want custom-printed packaging, the minimum rises because each of those steps has its own set-up cost.

So there is no single private-label MOQ. There is the jewellery MOQ, and then a separate minimum for each branded element you add.

Three levels of private label

  • Packaging only: you choose existing designs and your brand goes on the cards, pouches and boxes. The jewellery MOQ is the maker's standard one.
  • Branded findings: a small logo tag or a stamped clasp is added. This needs a die or a tag order, which usually has its own minimum.
  • Branded design: your logo is part of the cast or stamped piece, or the whole design is yours. A new master and mould are needed, so the per-design minimum is higher.

Why the minimums differ

A Rajkot workshop already has moulds and dies for its catalogue designs, so running a few hundred extra pieces costs little to set up. A new logo die or mould has to be made, checked and paid for, and the maker needs enough pieces to spread that cost. Printed packaging has its own economics: printers set up plates or screens and usually quote in thousands of units.

For the jewellery side, see typical MOQ per design for imitation jewellery. These figures are indicative and every maker negotiates.

How to start small

  • Begin with catalogue designs and brand only the packaging.
  • Use generic boxes with a printed sticker or a branded card insert instead of fully printed boxes.
  • Add a stock logo tag attached with a jump ring instead of a logo cast into the metal.
  • Share one logo die or tag across many designs so its cost is spread over the whole order.
  • Move to custom designs once you know which styles sell.

Ask each maker to quote the jewellery and each branded element as separate lines. You can then see which part of the minimum comes from the jewellery and which from tags, dies or packaging, and decide where to save. It also makes quotes from different Rajkot workshops easier to compare on the same basis.
