Buying from Real Dehydrates: what to check and how we help

Real Dehydrates says it manufactures dehydrated onion, garlic and spices on Bhanvad Road, Mahuva, and publishes a BRC site code. Here is how to check it before ordering.

According to its website, Real Dehydrates Pvt Ltd is a manufacturing unit on Bhanvad Road in Mahuva, Gujarat, specialising in dehydrated onion, garlic, spices and herbs. A spice exporters' directory gives its founding year as 2017, which makes it one of the younger plants in the cluster.

Creston & Co is not affiliated with Real Dehydrates. This page is a buyer's guide based on public information.

What Real Dehydrates says it makes

Its company website lists white onion, pink and red onion, garlic, fried onion, other dehydrated vegetables, Indian spices, herbs and spray-dried powders. A directory listing adds the forms: kibbled, flakes, minced, chopped, granules and powder, plus fried and toasted onion.

The site gives the plant address as Survey No. 143, Bhanvad Road, Mahuva. It states that the company is BRC certified by Foodchain ID Certification and quotes a site code, and it also names Kosher, Halal, US FDA and FSSAI. It claims 500 or more customers and 5,000 or more orders delivered. Capacity is not stated, export markets are not listed, and the founding year is not stated on the site itself. The site does not give capacity or staff figures in text, so ask for them in writing.

What to verify before you order

A published site code makes the first check quick. The rest is about how a young plant handles consistency across lots.

  • Enter the quoted BRC site code in the BRCGS Directory. Check that the certificate is current, that the address matches Bhanvad Road and that dehydrated onion and garlic are in scope.
  • Ask for the US FDA food facility registration number and confirm it is renewed for the current cycle. The site lists USFDA, but registration is not a product approval.
  • Confirm the plant address and the licence category on the FSSAI licence.
  • The product list runs from onion to spray-dried powders and herbs. Ask which items are made on site and which are bought in and repacked. Our guide on trader vs processor explains why it matters.
  • Ask for three recent lot reports for the form you want, to see how moisture, colour and microbiology vary from lot to lot.
  • Test a sealed sample at an accredited lab for residues, ethylene oxide and salmonella before you sign.
