Buying from Pooja Dehy-Foods: what to check and how we help

Pooja Dehy-Foods says it makes dehydrated and fried onion and garlic near Mahuva but names no certificate on its site. Here is what to check before ordering.

· 3 min read · Creston & Co

According to its website, Pooja Dehy-Foods Pvt Ltd is a manufacturer and exporter of dehydrated onion, garlic and other vegetables, with a production house on Haripara Road outside Mahuva and a corporate office near the Mahuva market yard.

Creston & Co is not affiliated with Pooja Dehy-Foods. This page is a buyer's guide based on public information.

What Pooja Dehy-Foods says it makes

Its company website lists dehydrated white, red and pink onion and dehydrated garlic as flakes, minced, chopped, granules, powder and slices, plus fried and toasted onion and some spices. Its Gulfood 2026 exhibitor listing adds coated fried, crispy fried and fresh fried products, and pulses. An Ingredients Network profile says the business was founded by a farmer family that has long grown and traded raw onions, and places the plant about 6 km from Mahuva.

The site calls the company "India's finest manufacturer & exporter" of these products. It does not state a founding year or a capacity figure.

On quality, the site says the production house maintains its parameters "as per FOOD SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM" and that it has installed a colour sorter and metal detectors for ferrous and non-ferrous metal. A credentials section shows certificate images, but they are not labelled, so which scheme they cover is not stated. The quality page also says the company is open to third-party audits chosen by its clients.

What to verify before you order

Because the certificates are not named, the first job is to find out exactly what the plant holds:

  • Ask which food safety scheme the Haripara Road plant is certified to. If it is BRCGS, check the site in the BRCGS directory; if FSSC 22000, check the FSSC register; if ISO 22000 only, ask whether that meets your customers' requirements.
  • Confirm the plant address on the FSSAI licence and on any certificate matches Haripara Road, not the corporate office address.
  • For fried onion, ask about frying oil type, oil change routine and oil content, and test for rancidity and free fatty acids as well as microbiology.
  • Ask whether the farmer-family background means the company grows its own onions or buys at the Mahuva yard, since that affects how variety and lot-to-lot consistency are controlled.
  • Take the company up on its stated openness to audits: book a third-party or buyer audit before the first container.
  • If you import into the US, ask for the US FDA food facility registration number. Test a sealed lot sample for pesticide residues, ETO and salmonella.

How we help if you want to buy from Pooja Dehy-Foods

We can contact the company for you, send your specification, and audit the Haripara Road plant in person, including the sorting and metal detection lines it describes. We draw sealed samples, test them at an NABL-accredited lab, check whatever certificates are offered against their registers, help agree terms, and supervise loading and documents at dispatch. All of this is for one written fee, and you buy directly from the company.

If Pooja Dehy-Foods does not suit your needs, we compare it with other plants around Mahuva. See dehydrated onion, our list of other manufacturers, and the Mahuva buyer's guide.

If you represent Pooja Dehy-Foods and something here is out of date, contact us and we will correct it.
