Buying from M N Export: what to check and how we help

M N Export appears on IndiaMART as a Mahuva manufacturer of dehydrated onion and garlic, established in 2015. No certificates are listed, so documents come first.

According to its listing on IndiaMART, M N Export is a partnership firm in Mahuva, Bhavnagar district, Gujarat, that describes itself as a leading manufacturer of dehydrated onion and garlic. We found no company website, so this guide rests on that single listing.

Creston & Co is not affiliated with M N Export. This page is a buyer's guide based on public information.

What M N Export says it makes

Its IndiaMART listing shows dehydrated white onion as minced, chopped and powder; red onion as fried brown onion flakes, pink onion powder and red onion powder; and garlic as flakes, chopped and powder. The listing says the firm was established in 2015, has 11 to 25 employees and has a GST registration from 2017.

No certifications are listed beyond the GST registration. IndiaMART says some of the firm's details have been verified, without saying which. Capacity and export markets are not stated. The name is similar to another Mahuva company, M.N. Dehy Foods, but we found nothing public that confirms a link between the two.

What to verify before you order

With one listing and no certificates shown, start with the basics.

  • Ask which food safety certificates the plant holds, if any: BRCGS, FSSC 22000 or ISO 22000. Check any you are given in the BRCGS directory, the FSSC register or through the certification body. Many European and UK buyers require one of these.
  • Ask for the FSSAI licence and confirm it names a manufacturing premises in Mahuva, not only an office or trading address.
  • Ask whether M N Export dries onion itself or sources from other units, and which plant would produce your lot.
  • The HSN codes on the listing are for fresh onion and garlic. Dried onion and garlic normally fall under HS heading 0712, so ask which code will appear on your invoice and shipping bill.
  • Ask whether it has an IEC and has exported before, and request a past export invoice with prices removed.
  • Take a sealed sample and test it at an accredited lab for moisture, microbiology, pesticide residues and ETO.
  • For the US, confirm the FDA food facility registration.

How we help if you want to buy from M N Export

We can approach M N Export for you, visit the premises to confirm whether drying happens there, and check its licences and any certificates. We take sealed samples for an NABL-accredited lab, negotiate terms, supervise loading and check that the export documents and HS codes are right, all for one written fee. You buy directly from the company.

If it is not the right fit, we compare it with certified plants in the cluster making dehydrated onion and garlic. See other manufacturers and our trader or processor guide.
