According to its website, KFI Export is a producer of export-quality dehydrated onion, garlic and spices based in Mahuva, Gujarat, and its listing on Nutrada says it was established in 2014 on the outskirts of the town.
Creston & Co is not affiliated with KFI Export. This page is a buyer's guide based on public information.
What KFI Export says it makes
The company website lists white, red and pink onion and garlic, each as kibbled or flakes, minced or chopped, and granules and powder. It also lists Indian spices as whole seeds and powder, and a range of spray-dried powders. The Nutrada listing adds garlic cloves and states a staff of 11 to 50.
The website describes KFI as a "BRC (A-Grade) Certified Company", and Nutrada lists BRC and FSSAI. Capacity is not stated; the site's vision section says the company aims to increase capacity with fully automatic systems and to become a fully organic manufacturing unit, so organic product is a stated goal rather than a current claim. The website gives two addresses, one in Mahuva town and one at Taveda in Mahuva taluka. Nutrada describes it as both manufacturer and exporter and quotes ex works terms.
What to verify before you order
- Ask for the BRCGS certificate number and audit date and check the grade and site address in the BRCGS directory.
- Confirm which address is the processing plant, most likely the Taveda one, and match it to the FSSAI manufacturing licence.
- The spray-dried range is a different process from hot-air drying of onion. If you buy both, ask whether they are made on the same site and covered by the same certificate.
- Spices are on the product list, so ask for the Spices Board registration and whether seed spices are cleaned in house or bought in.
- Its listing describes both manufacturing and exporting, so ask which plant produces your lot.
- Ask for an NABL-accredited test on a pre-shipment sample: plate count, salmonella, pesticide residues and ethylene oxide.
- With ex works quoted, agree who arranges inland transport, stuffing and export clearance, and ask for the FDA registration number if the goods go to the US.
