Buying from Delicious Food: what to check and how we help

Delicious Food says it grows, processes and exports onion and garlic from Talgajarda near Mahuva. Here is what to check before you order, and how we help.

According to its website, Delicious Food describes itself as "The Dehydrated Onion & Garlic Hub", based on Ratol Road in Talgajarda, a village in Mahuva taluka, and says it handles growing, processing and selling of onion and garlic.

Creston & Co is not affiliated with Delicious Food. This page is a buyer's guide based on public information.

What Delicious Food says it makes

Its company website lists white onion as kibbled, chopped, minced, flakes, powder and granules in grades A and B, red and pink onion in the same cuts, roasted onion, crispy fried onion, and garlic flakes, chopped, minced, granules and powder. It also offers fresh red, yellow and white onion and fresh garlic.

The site says the company owns "specially designed, giant agricultural farms" and a technically advanced manufacturing unit, and that its promoters have 15 to 20 years in the onion and garlic trade. It states that products undergo microbiological tests and periodic testing at government-approved laboratories. It names the USA, UK, Spain, South Africa, Turkey, UAE and Pakistan among its markets.

The website does not name a certificate, a founding year or a capacity. Its listing on Nutrada gives 2015 as the founding year, 11 to 50 staff, Ex Works terms, and BRC, FDA and FSSAI as food safety certifications.

What to verify before you order

The farm-to-export story and the directory certificates are the points to pin down:

  • Ask for the BRC certificate itself, then confirm the site name, address, grade and expiry in the BRCGS directory. A directory entry alone is not proof.
  • Ask how much land the company farms and which onion varieties it grows, and how much raw material it buys from the market. Owned farms can help with variety control, so it is worth seeing evidence.
  • The range includes fresh produce as well as processed forms, so ask whether every dehydrated item is made in its own dryer or whether some lines are traded. See our note on trader vs processor.
  • The same Ratol Road survey number appears in a trade-fair listing under a different company name. That can be normal in a family cluster, but confirm which legal entity owns the plant, holds the FSSAI licence and will issue your invoice.
  • Ask for recent lab reports from the government-approved labs it mentions, then test your own sealed sample for pesticide residues, ETO and salmonella.
  • For US orders, ask for the FDA food facility registration number. The listing quotes Ex Works, so agree who handles inland transport and export clearance.

How we help if you want to buy from Delicious Food

We can make the first approach for you, visit the Talgajarda unit and, where the company allows, the farms it describes. We audit processing and storage, collect sealed samples for an NABL-accredited lab, check certificates and licences against official records, negotiate terms including the move from Ex Works to a term that suits you, and supervise loading and documents. One written fee covers it, and you buy directly from the company.

If it is not the right match, we compare it with other units nearby. See dehydrated garlic and dehydrated onion, and our list of other manufacturers.

If you represent Delicious Food and something here is out of date, contact us and we will correct it.
