According to its website, Chhatariya Foods Pvt Ltd is a Mahuva company that has manufactured dehydrated onion and garlic since 1991, as part of a family group that has worked in Gujarat for around fifty years.
Creston & Co is not affiliated with Chhatariya Foods. This page is a buyer's guide based on public information.
What Chhatariya Foods says it makes
Its company website lists dehydrated white, pink and red onion and dehydrated garlic in powder, granules, minced, chopped and flakes, plus garlic cloves, fried onion, fresh fried onion and fried garlic. It states particle ranges for each cut: powder at 80 to 100 mesh, granules at 0.5 to 1 mm, minced at 1 to 3 mm and chopped at 3 to 5 mm. It also lists ginger, vegetable and fruit powders, seasoning blends and soup premixes.
The site gives the address as the Bhavnagar Highway, Mahuva, and says the plant is about 27 km from Pipavav port. It states a capacity of 150 MT per month and describes a fully automatic drying system, with raw onion bought directly from farms. It lists ISO 22000, BRCGS, Halal, FSSAI, APEDA and Spices Board registration. The site calls the company "a leading manufacturer, supplier and exporter of dehydrated onions", which is its own description.
Some figures on the site, such as the workforce and land area, refer to the whole group rather than the food plant. Export markets are not stated.
What to verify before you order
- BRCGS: ask for the certificate number and site code, then look it up in the BRCGS directory. Check the grade, the expiry date and that the audited scope covers dehydrated onion and garlic, not only one product group.
- ISO 22000: ask for the certificate and the name of the certification body, then confirm with that body that it is current and accredited.
- Capacity: 150 MT per month is a total across all products. Ask how much of it is onion powder, how much is garlic and what is already booked in your shipping window.
- Group activities: the site covers several products and businesses. Confirm that your lot is dried and milled at the Mahuva plant named on the FSSAI licence.
- Specification: the stated mesh and millimetre ranges are a good starting point. Put your own limits for moisture, microbiology, pesticide residues and ETO in the contract and test a pre-shipment sample against them.
- If you import into the US, check that the plant has a current FDA food facility registration and that you can meet your FSVP duties.
How we help if you want to buy from Chhatariya Foods
We can approach Chhatariya Foods on your behalf, visit the plant on the Bhavnagar Highway and audit the drying and milling lines against your specification. We collect sealed samples ourselves, have them tested at an NABL-accredited lab, check each certificate at its source, negotiate terms, supervise loading and check the export documents before you pay the balance. You pay us one written fee agreed in advance, and you buy directly from the company.
If the plant turns out not to fit your volume or specification, we compare it with other manufacturers in the Mahuva cluster. See our dehydrated onion page for the forms we source, and read BRCGS vs FSSC 22000 vs ISO 22000 to understand what each certificate covers.
If you represent Chhatariya Foods and something here is out of date, contact us and we will correct it.
