According to its website, Century Foods is a manufacturer and exporter of dehydrated onion and garlic in Mahuva, Bhavnagar district, Gujarat, with a factory on Gundarani Road in Nana Jadra. It has also exhibited at Gulfood in Dubai.
Creston & Co is not affiliated with Century Foods. This page is a buyer's guide based on public information.
What Century Foods says it makes
Its company website lists dehydrated white, red and pink onion, dehydrated garlic, dehydrated vegetables and spice powders. Its Gulfood exhibitor page gives the cuts: flakes (8 to 15 mm), chopped (3 to 5 mm), minced (1 to 3 mm), granules (0.5 to 1 mm) and powder (100 to 120 mesh), for both onion and garlic.
It also offers fresh white and red onion, fresh garlic and onions preserved in vinegar, including silver skin and pickled onions. The website says the company grows produce on its own farms in Gujarat and describes itself as one of the world's largest makers of onion and garlic products.
- Founding year: the website says it has operated since 2014; the Gulfood page says since 2015.
- Certifications: the website shows logos for IEC, MSME, APEDA, GST, ISO, a spices registration and a Jamiat halal mark. The Gulfood page lists none. A directory listing adds HACCP and FDA.
- Capacity: not stated on its own site. One directory gives 10 MT a day.
What to verify before you order
Because Century Foods sells fresh onion and pickled lines as well as dehydrated product, the first question is which of its activities happen at the Nana Jadra factory. Then:
- Ask for the FSSAI licence and check on FoSCoS that the Gundarani Road address is licensed for dehydration, not only for packing or storage.
- The ISO logo does not say which standard. Ask for the certificate and check whether it is ISO 22000 or ISO 9001, who issued it and whether that body is accredited.
- If the plant holds BRCGS or FSSC 22000, ask for the site code or certificate number and confirm it in the BRCGS Directory or the FSSC 22000 register. If it holds neither, decide whether your customer accepts that.
- For halal, ask for the Jamiat certificate itself and check the product list on it covers your item.
- For the US, ask for the FDA food facility registration number. FDA does not issue certificates, so a paper "FDA certificate" proves little on its own.
- Ask for capacity in writing and compare it with your order, then confirm the date your lot will be produced.
- Test a sealed sample from the lot at an NABL-accredited lab, including salmonella, moisture and ethylene oxide.
How we help if you want to buy from Century Foods
We can contact Century Foods for you, visit the Nana Jadra factory and audit the dehydration line, draw sealed samples, have them tested at an NABL-accredited lab, check certificates with their issuers, negotiate terms, supervise loading and check the documents before you pay the balance. It is one written fee, and the contract is directly between you and the company.
If it is not the right match, we put it side by side with other plants in the cluster. More on dehydrated onion, dehydrated garlic, other manufacturers and how to tell a trader from a processor.
If you represent Century Foods and something here is out of date, contact us and we will correct it.
