Buying from Asian Food Export: what to check and how we help

Asian Food Export says it runs units in Mahuva and Bhavnagar making dehydrated onion and garlic under BRCGS. Here is what to verify before you place an order.

According to its website and its Gulfood exhibitor page, Asian Food Export is a manufacturer and exporter of dehydrated onion, garlic, vegetables and spices based on Nana Jadra Road in Mahuva, Gujarat, established in 2009. It is one of the Mahuva names that appears most often in trade-show and directory listings.

Creston & Co is not affiliated with Asian Food Export. This page is a buyer's guide based on public information.

What Asian Food Export says it makes

Its company website lists garlic as whole cloves, minced, granules and powder, and white onion, red onion and shallot as kibbled, chopped, minced, granules and powder. It also lists fried onion, other dehydrated vegetables, Indian spices and seeds. The shallot line is less common among Mahuva plants and worth asking about if you need it.

The site names two factory units: one at Nana Jadra, Mahuva, and a second at Chitra GIDC in Bhavnagar. It states that its products are "GFSI | BRCGS, KOSHER & HALAL CERTIFIED", and the Gulfood page says its BRCGS certificate carries an A rating. It mentions associations with buyers in Europe, the USA, South Africa and the UAE. Capacity is not stated, and the Gulfood page calls the company "a leading manufacturer and exporter" in its own words.

What to verify before you order

Two factory units mean the first question is which one makes your product and which one the certificates cover.

  • Ask for the BRCGS certificate number and look it up in the BRCGS Directory. Check the grade, the expiry date and, above all, which site it covers: Mahuva, Chitra or both.
  • Ask which unit dries the onion and which mills and packs it. Chitra GIDC is an industrial estate in Bhavnagar city, so confirm whether it is a drying plant, a milling and packing unit or a store.
  • Confirm both addresses on the FSSAI licence, and check US FDA registration for the specific site if you export to the US.
  • For shallot and red onion, ask for separate specifications and recent lot reports, since colour, pungency and moisture can differ from white onion.
  • Ask for the halal and kosher certificates and check the issuing body and the products named. See what a halal certificate covers.
  • Take a sealed sample from a production lot and test it for pesticide residues, ethylene oxide and salmonella before you confirm.

How we help if you want to buy from Asian Food Export

We can contact Asian Food Export for you, visit and audit the unit that will make your lot, draw sealed samples for an NABL-accredited lab, check the certificates in the official directories, negotiate terms, supervise loading in Mahuva or Bhavnagar and check the export documents, for one written fee. You buy directly from the company.

If it is not the right fit, we compare it with other plants in the Mahuva cluster. See our pages on dehydrated onion and dehydrated garlic, the list of other manufacturers, and BRCGS vs FSSC 22000 vs ISO 22000.
